How is Jerry’s Foods Grocery Store after Hurricane Ian?
Jerry's Foods Grocery Store on Sanibel Island is a beautiful landmark and destination in itself. No trip to Sanibel is complete without a shopping trip (or two) to Jerry's!
So many Sanibel fans are probably wondering how Jerry's fared through Hurricane Ian and if it has reopened yet.
So here is the current status of Jerry's and the Jerry's Shops!
Jerry's Foods is Open after Hurricane Ian!
Yay! Jerry's Foods has reopened as of Sunday, October 23 2022!
Here is their update on their Facebook page on 10/23/22:
Jerry’s of Sanibel is open, but serving with limited options.
We are open with limited hours of 8am-4pm. The basic items we are able to provide include:
• Dry goods, canned goods
• Limited refrigerated items
The Café is closed. If possible, we plan to open the café and restaurant 10/28.
As soon as we begin to re-establish our supply chain, and make further repairs to our facility, we will be able to offer more products and services. We will continue to update and inform our customers as we are able.

Look at the beautiful Mexican Petunias that survived the storm!
I love the photo below from the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce Facebook Page. Here is what they said:

This is a huge first step towards island recovery and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate their reopening than with a ribbon cutting!
Jerry’s Foods, in partnership with Bailey's General Store, donated $20,000 to FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, Inc., the islands’ food pantry and human services organization. It’s incredible to see our come together in this time of need

Other Shops of Jerry's Shopping Center are Open!
Mosts of the other shops at Jerry's Shopping Center are now open as well, and many are having 50% off sales, so stop in and say "Hi!"
Sanibel Surf Shop

What a beautiful sign to see!
Birds of Jerry's
Sadly, our hearts are broken over the loss of all the beautiful and beloved rescue birds of Jerry's. They had been evacuated to what was thought to be a safer location at Periwinkle Park, but the catastrophic storm surge was too much for them to survive. You can read more on their Facebook page HERE.

Support Hurricane Ian Recovery Efforts
Sanibel Island is special in our hearts as well as many others, who are heartbroken over the devastation that Hurricane Ian brought this friendly little island in SW Florida.
Living in southwest Florida ourselves, and Sanibel being our "home away from home," we wanted a way to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian to rebuild and come back stronger and more beautiful than ever, so that families can continue to be able to create wonderful lifelong memories in this little slice of paradise.
$5 of every shirt purchased will go towards SW Florida relief efforts at: https://www.fishofsancap.org, https://destinyunitedrelief.org and https://mealsofhope.org. These are all reputable organizations that we personally know, have worked with, and highly recommend.
